Publishing Details
The Pharmacopoeia is composed of the European, German and Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia.
As defined by § 55 of the Medicinal Products Act, the Pharmacopoeia is a compendium of recognized pharmaceutical rules, published by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices in accordance with the Paul Ehrlich Institute and the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, decided by the European Pharmacopoeia Commission, the German Pharmacopoeia Commission and the German Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Commission.
The Pharmacopoeia comprises recognized pharmaceutical rules on the quality, testing, storage, supply and naming of drugs and the substances used in their production. In addition, the Pharmacopoeia contains rules for the properties of containers and wrappers.
The Pharmacopoeia is published by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices and compiled in close collaboration with Deutscher Apotheker Verlag.
